Day 10 of the 12 nails of Christmas, can you believe how close we are to Christmas now?
So just before Christmas we have Christmas Stockings! Do you all have yours up and ready? Do you still get a stocking of gifts?
The colours i sued for this are:
‘White on white’ by Revlon, ‘Blackout’ by Rimmel, ‘Red Carpet’ by Rimmel, ‘Rapid Ruby’ by Rimmel, ‘Ninja’ by Collection 2000, ‘Spring Green’, by Barry M, ‘Sweet as Sugar’ by Rimmel and White glitter.
More photos under the cut.
For the stockings i started with blocking out the toe and fur trim areas with white. This can be done quite messily as it’s going to be covered with other colours and neatend up afterwards anyway. It just needs to be a good coverage.
Then i took a base colour for each nail, This was either red or green for these nails. This layer had to be quite thick to cover up the white if you went over it, i also used this colour to carve out the shapes in the white that i wanted.
The first nail i wanted as the normal just red and white stocking. The next one i added dots to the green background. The middle nail i thought i’d try to do a tartan with the red and green. This involved drawing on green squares onto the red background then using a striping tool to do red stripes ones way thought the center of the squares and green through the other. The next nail was dots on red and finally just green and white hatches.
For the white fur at the top i used white glitter. I think if you have white flocking, this would look great. Alas my local craft shop was out. But if you have white flocking, i think for any fur it would look great. To make the glitter stick i had to wait for the rest of the nail to dry totally before adding a layer of topcoat in the areas where i wanted the glitter to stick.
You can’t do a top coat on top of the glitter but you can use a top coat over the whole nail once it’s done but before the glitter goes on.
