Day 8 of the 12 nails of Christmas and we have snowmen!!

These were fun little guys to do, nice scarfs too : )

The colours i used for this are:

‘Azure’ by Rimmel, ‘Electric’ by Rimmel, ‘Electric Blue’ by BeautyUK, ‘Blue me away’ by Rimmel, ‘Purple Addict’ by Rimmel, ‘Fun in the sun’ by L.A. Colour, ‘Blackout’ by Rimmel, ‘White on white’ by Revlon, ‘Spring Green’ by Barry M, ‘Bright Orange’ by MaxFactor, ‘Jelly bean’ by BeautyUK, ‘Sweet as sugar’ by Rimmel and ‘Red Carpet’ by Rimmel.

More photos after the cut.

For the background i used 5 different shades, starting with a blue at one end and letting it go into blue at the other.

For the snowmen themselves i took my white and started making circles with my brush in the white on the nails, making a large ball at the bottom of the nail and two smaller ones on top, the final one on the top being the smallest.

Once i was happy with the sizes of these balls i started to fill them in with the white. Since i knew i was going to use the white glitter on them i knew i didn’t need to fill in the circles that well as the glitter would cover the imperfections.

Before i put the glitter on i first put on the details of the snowman as the details wouldn’t stick on to the glitter well.

I used a black and a dotting tool for the buttons and the face and a small brush for the nose and the scarfs.

Once everything was totally dry, as i didn’t want to glitter sticking to other parts of it. I used a topcoat on the areas where i wanted the glitter to go and i sprinkled the glitter over the nail tapping the excess of afterwards.

Finally i added int he hats.

The ring finger is very similar, but i took a larger dotting tool and used it to make the three dots of the snowmen and then adding the noses, eyes, mouth and buttons afterwards.

With this one you can’t seal it in with a top coat so if you want to make it last you should do a top coat all over before you add the glitter but after you’ve finished the detail. Let this dry well before adding the glitter though.

I hope you have fun recreating this look.
