Christmas nails 2012 – Christmas Trees

Christmas time! I’m a sucker for Christmas. I love the candles and decorating trees and the house and the baking!

But mostly the presents!!!!

I’m only just starting the shopping now. a bit late I fear : S

The colours I used for this are:
‘Chrome’ by Stargazer, ‘Aqua Crystal’ by L.A.Colour, ‘Indian Ocean’ by Models Own, ‘Sun Kissed’ by Models Own, ‘Holographic Hero’ by GOSH, ‘Red Glitter’ by Barry M, ‘Pineapple Fizz’ by Revlon, ‘Silver Glitter’ by Barry M, ‘Emerald Green’ by Barry M, ‘Ninja (36)’ by Collection 2000 and ‘Spring Green’ by Barry M.

More photos under the cut and a close up on the tree.

I started with different shades of green on the nails apart from the ring finger which i used a light blue on.

Once all the nails were dry I started decorating the trees with tinsel and baubles. For the tinsel i dabbed and flicked the nail varnish on the nail in lines. As for the baubles, they’re done with simple dotting tool and bright colours.

On the ring finger i wanted a tree in it’s entirety. Once the background colour was dry i started on the tree. In order to draw the tree i started with a green and painted a straight line up the center of the nail towards the top but stopping before i get there. hen from the top of this line i drew out two lines to make a triangle stopping not far out. Then i repeated doing this all the way down to make 4 staggered levels to the tree., then i filled it all in with the green.

Next i painted on the tinsel and added the baubles to the tree. Then i added a few dots o colour for lights and finally a gold and yellow for a star on top of the tree.

Sorry some of the photos are blurry, my camera is playing up.

But that’s all there is to it. I hope you have fun recreating this look.
