So here is a look for anyone feeling mushy for for valentines day or for anniversaries. Or just to show you all the different kinda of heart based looks you can do on your nails in one go.
The colours i used are: ‘Pattie’ by Andrea Fulerton, ‘Your Majesty’ by Rimmel, ‘Matt White’ by Barry M, ‘Strawberry Fizz’ by Rimmel, ‘Red Glitter’ by Barry M, ‘Aztec’ by BeautyUK, ‘double Decker Red’ by Rimmel, ‘Red Carpet’ by Rimmel and ‘Shocker’ by Rimmel
The first nail i did was the Thumb as i thought it might be harder to do than the rest. I started with the base coat and with no background colour i started sketching in what a heart with a banner going across it might look like first. Trying to get the size and spacing right. I sketched it in with the double decker red as that could be the colour i’d use in the end. Once i was happy with this i filled it in with the red leaving the gap for the banner of course, then filled in the background with Gold, and filled in the banner with white, and adding some highlights to the heart with the white. Then I went round the edges of everything with Pattie and gave it all a black outline.
On the Index finger i painted the background colour in using red carpet and i gave it two coats as i wanted a deeper colour than just one coat will give you. Then using white i drew myself a small heart on the nail to he side and put an even smaller heart inside it again using the red carpet colour and then using the gold and silver i drew lines away from it, as if it were a shooting star,
The middle finger i actually started with the heart at the bottom of the nail. To get the colour depth that i achieved here i actually went in with double decker red first and then i went in with the red carpet on top to add a deeper colour but also a gloss and shine to it. Once i was happy with the shape of the heart, i started filling in the background with silver and then finally i went in with patty and gave the heart a back edge to it.
For my Ring finger i used Strawberry Fizz for a background, (which smells of strawberries, no really! For ages after you first put it on!) Then using various reds i drew small heart on my nails i wanted them to look as if they were floating up and the lowest one of them all is filled in with gold not red. The each one fo the hearts are outlined with a lack outline.
Finally for my little finger, i used shocker as the background colour then on top of this i sued double decker red to draw two small hearts. On this i then added the Barry m red glitter nail varnish. I put the red on first as apart from the glitter than nail varnish actually has no pigment to it, so adding a colour to the background before you add it on top makes it brighter if you do. Then an outline of black to make it stand out more.
And that’s it all done! You could do just one of these nails all over your hand. Do a hand on blank nails apart from one on your ring finger or do a varied theme like i did on this one. It’s up to you and your mood or the event you want to wear the nails to.
Have fun recreating the look.
